The Whistler Children’s Festival, now in its 30th year, is coming up on 13-14 July. The festival has moved from Creekside to the central Olympic Plaza, one of my favourite places to be with my family in Whistler. Surrounded by several coffee shops and including a playground, this space will come alive for the two-day festival with an expected 5,000 visitors.
I particularly like that the particular goal of the festival is to introduce school-aged children to the arts through over 19 hands-on workshops. Expect to find artisans offering experiences with ceramics, jewellery, soapstone carving, tie-dye, percussion and fine art. It’s worth noting that you need to register ahead of time for the workshops which you can do online here, but they are incredibly affordable, with all under $15 and most under $10. Personally, I would be first in line for the Vancouver Circus School one…
And, to make this even more interesting, you can enter below for a properly lovely family getaway to experience the Festival for yourself.
